Irish Under 16 Cup (Born 1991 or Later) Grove Pool, Belfast January 25-27 2008 The
2006/07 Irish Under 16 (Born 1991 or Later) Cup Championships took place in
the Grove Pool, Belfast on the weekend of January 25-27 2008. St Vincent's women retained their title and star
player Laura Murphy was named as Player of the Tournament. In the Men’s
Championship, Corrib won their first Under 16 title and were clearly the best
team, fielding 5 current Junior Internationals. Corrib Captain Adam Caulfield
was named Player of the Tournament.
Well done to Vincent’s and Corrib.
The Under 16 Cup Marked the last Irish
Championship to be held in the Grand old Belfast Venue. The Grove is due to
close in April. It was a fine venue in its day and saw many thrilling Irish
Cup, National League, Ulster and International Matches. Farewell old trusted
servant.
